The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee invites applications and nominations for a non-tenure track position in the Department of Finance. The position is for a Lecturer or Professor of the Practice, with rank and classification depending upon the candidate’s qualifications. We will conduct interviews virtually.

The primary responsibilities of the position will be teaching undergraduate finance classes and helping students outside of the classroom enhance their skills. Candidates must be able to work effectively within the Department, College and University.

Position Available: August 1, 2024

Salary: Competitive.

Qualifications

Required: A Master’s degree or higher in finance or a related field in hand as of the starting date of employment is required for the Lecturer position. The Professor of Practice appointment requires extensive industry experience or Ph.D. in finance or a related field in hand as of the start date.

Preferred: The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in student success, demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate levels, and experience effectively utilizing technology to teach and engage a large number of students. Industry experience or related certifications is desirable but not required.

The Department of Finance is one of seven departments within the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. The Department has a mission that includes excellence in research, teaching and service, while working within the frameworks of the College’s overall mission. Finance is a popular major and collateral at the University of Tennessee and includes curriculum at the undergraduate, MBA, executive and doctoral levels; and the Department houses the Masters Investment Learning Center.
